Station History UGFM first came about in October 1994 when our first low power, mono transmission took place on 98.9 MHz within the town of Alexandra.   The test permit allowed the station to broadcast each weekend from 7.00am Friday until midnight Sunday.

Radio Murrindindi - UGFM  can now be heard around Kinglake Ranges using a newly installed transmitter.
UGFM installed this on 6th February, 2009.
Testing and adjustments are still being made to the equipment.
It operates on  FM  94.5.

For the time being all UGFM programmes can be heard. Once Kinglake Ranges Community Radio is established
programme sharing will occur to enable continuance of Shire wide coverage at certain times.
This will be important particularly for emergency services information which has always been a high priority for UGFM.

The Kinglake frequency was previously used by ABC Radio earlier this year but that service has now ceased.

UGFM is now able to be monitored through the internet with live streaming.

UGFM will in coming weeks increase coverage of the Kinglake area as far as news and other programming
issues are concerned.
